The inscription reads LUC 2V8. This refers to Luke 2:8, which tells the story of the shepherds watching their flocks by night, who were visited by an angel announcing the birth of Christ. The imagery reflects this, with a heavenly figure above surrounded by rays of light and a group of shepherds below reacting to the angelic visitation.
