Condition:
- The excavated piece with some deterioration to the glaze.
- On the back, it appears that about 20% of the plate was missing and has been filled and overpainted.
- The complete 80% with a section broken out between 6 and 9 o'clock, with an internal break.
- The missing part overpainted on the front, but also with overpainting over part of the original surface. About 35% of the front is overpainted, mostly situated on Adam's side of the tree.
- The signature on the base reads "IANEKEN", which in late medieval Dutch is a diminutive for the name "Jan".
