This nicely painted tray combines a fine perspective with wonderful topography with an interesting scene depicted on the foreground, showing a shipyard at work.
Marked with an axe for the "De Porceleyne Byl" workshop, Delft.
Provenance: Aronson, 2011: In the eye of the beholder - Perspectives on Dutch Delftware, p. 80, nr. 44.
Condition:
- A restored chip on the top left corner.
- An area of restoration and overspraying along most of the right edge, where a section was probably broken out and restuck.
- Glaze drips in the center of the tray.
