On 4 September 2026, the collection of Mr and Mrs Baert–Devos - known to connoisseurs as “Mr and Mrs Egret” - was offered at auction in Bruges. This important Belgian private collection of Chinese porcelain from the Ming and Qing periods achieved record results. Highlights included thirteen rare Wanli pieces bearing the egret mark, early Chinese export porcelain and striking figural works. Two hundred selected objects are discussed in detail, with attention to their provenance, significance, related examples and references.
