Description
The globular ewer sturdily potted with a short cylindrical neck, faceted loop handle and curved tapering spout, the body richly painted in underglaze blue with a dense all-over design comprising cicadas, butterflies, shells, crane medallions, lotus blossoms, asters, prunus sprays and other flowering plants interspersed with scattered precious objects. The shoulder encircled by a band of stylised ruyi-head motifs and the lower body with pendent lappets above the foot.
