Description
The finely potted shallow bowl has gently rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim and is delicately painted in the centre with a basket filled with fruit and flowers, all executed in vibrant tones of underglaze cobalt blue. The interior rim is decorated with a band of three flying cranes interspersed with ruyi motifs and clouds. The exterior is painted with two inverted trees extending from the upper rim, each bearing a bird. The base bears the rare egret mark, a distinctive mark associated with a small group of high-quality and rare late Ming porcelains.
