Description
The compressed globular jar finely painted in cobalt-blue with a continuous narrative scene depicting four standing officials engaged in discussion within a fenced garden landscape. To one side, a canopied carriage with horse stands beside two attendants or guards carrying spears, while a further attendant appears beneath pine trees and amongst scholar’s rocks. The scene is divided by a moon-gate set amongst jagged rockwork and scrolling clouds. The shoulder encircled by a band of stylised lappets and floral motifs.
